Overview
Katra is recognized globally as the dedicated base camp for the holy **Vaishno Devi Yatra**, one of the most revered and challenging pilgrimages in Northern India. Devotees flock here to begin their sacred ascent into the **Trikuta Hills** to seek the profound blessings of **Mata Vaishno Devi**. The entire region functions not only as a spiritual center but also as the gateway to **Jammu**, famously known as the 'City of Temples.' The atmosphere is charged with devotion, offering pilgrims a focused environment necessary to undertake the demanding spiritual journey to the main shrine (Bhavan).
This pilgrimage is complemented by visits to several other historically and religiously significant stops. Crucially, the journey includes the **Bhairon Baba Temple**, as visiting this site is considered mandatory to complete the Yatra after reaching the Bhavan. The region also hosts major cultural landmarks like the powerful **Bave Wali Mata Temple** (situated within the historic Bahu Fort in Jammu), and the significant roadside shrine of the **Chichi Mata Temple**, which is often visited near the serene **Mansar Lake** on the highway, ensuring a truly comprehensive spiritual and cultural experience in this sacred part of the country.
Katra Tour Itinerary
01 : Arrive Jammu / Katra
Our representative will receive you at Jammu Airport (IXJ) or Jammu Tawi Railway Station (JAT) and transfer you to your hotel in Katra (the base camp). Check in and spend the evening preparing for the next day's pilgrimage, exploring the local Katra market.
Overnight in Katra.
02 : Vaishno Devi Yatra (Pilgrimage)
Start the Vaishno Devi Yatra early in the morning. Begin the trek (approx. 14 km) up to the Holy Shrine (Bhawan). Perform Darshan of Mata Vaishno Devi. Optionally, you can use helicopter service or pony/palki (at your own cost).
Overnight stay either at the Bhawan or return to Katra late at night.
03 : Bhairon Mandir & Rest Day
After completing the Yatra, visit the Bhairon Baba Temple (which is mandatory to complete the pilgrimage). Return to Katra. The rest of the day is for leisure and relaxing after the long trek.

04 : Patnitop Excursion (Hill Station)
After breakfast, take a scenic day trip to Patnitop, a beautiful hill station known for its wide meadows, pine forests, and stunning views of the Chenab basin. Enjoy the serene environment and nature walks.
Return to Katra in the evening.

05 : Shiv Khori Excursion (Cave Shrine)
Spend the day with an excursion to Shiv Khori, a famous holy cave shrine of Lord Shiva. The cave is known for its natural Shivalingam formation. The visit involves a short trek (approx. 3.5 km) from the road-head.
Return to Katra for overnight stay.

06 : Departure
After breakfast, check out from the hotel and transfer to the Jammu Airport (IXJ) or Railway Station (JAT) for your onward journey. Tour ends on departure.
